What can you win?The best of the entries will be published in our anthology, giving you a writing credit and an avenue for more readers to find your work.
The upcoming 2024 run of the competition will be the 10th year of our project. In recent runs we've also appeared at York Literature Festival, Leeds Arts University, multiple open mics, as well as multiple spaces online. Is there any small print?By using the hashtag SFFiction (#SFFiction), you give your permission to be published in our anthology, should we choose your work. We make a point of ensuring that the copyright on the anthology states that the copyright for the work belongs to the contributors (you), not us. We will also acknowledge all storytellers using their twitter ID, so readers can find you.
We don't aim to make money or claim credit for people's work by running this project. We simply love to see what people can produce with the limited word count and enjoy publishing the brilliant content to a wider audience. Serious Flash Fiction is about promoting creativity, widening access, giving writers a platform and ensuring everyone can have a voice. The competition is free to enter, the only cost associated is that we can not give away the published anthology for free, so anyone wishing to get a copy of the final work does need to buy one :) |
